Opportunities:

Small contractors often miss opportunities because they are unaware or presume they will not be considered seriously. The New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance minimizes these obstacles and misconceptions by distributing information about public and private contract opportunities to its members. A database consisting of information on small contractor members will be provided to project owners, CMs and developers when opportunities present themselves.

Access to Information:

The NHRCA provides members with access to information enabling them to identify and participate in public and private sector construction projects. Up-to-date construction contract information, such as schedules, blueprints, bid deadlines, contract awards, and contract requirement.

Networking:

The New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance provides opportunities for members to establish relationships with large construction contracting firms, public agencies, industry experts, associations, executives, private owners, and authorities with whom they seek to do business.

Education and Training:

Senior executives and technical experts, under the direction of the New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance, design and teach courses which focus on practical application to problems frequently encountered in the office and on the job site. Areas covered include bidding strategies, estimating, business management, planning and scheduling, contract law, blueprint reading, bonding, financial management and more.

Mentor- Protégé – Partnerships:

Experienced hands guide the emerging firms so they can survive and thrive in a competitive environment. The New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance will provide mentoring relationship opportunities for its members with more experienced companies in the business. The Alliance through the mentoring program can offer the opportunity for steady improvement in business practices and long term stability.

Newsletter:

The Alliance will provide to its members a newsletter with the latest contract opportunities, job postings, related information on contract developments, new regulations, and area activities.

Computerized Data-Base:

The New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance activities are structured to provide participating companies with access to project owners, and major construction firms. A database consisting of information provide by the small contractor will be maintained by the Alliance and distributed when opportunities are available
