Mission Statement

The New Haven Regional Contractors Alliance is formed in order to assist small, minority and women owned businesses improve their ability to compete for construction and construction related contracts, and to endeavor to prevent, eliminate, or minimize barriers, if any, which such businesses may encounter through developing and supporting a variety of innovative practices, programs and services to achieve these purposes.

The following are some, but not all, of the actions the Alliance will attempt to accomplish:

• Assist in the development of partnerships between public and private organizations to address the challenges and opportunities facing the construction industry by promoting policies and practices that support the growth of s/m/wbe’s.
• Assist in the identification of opportunities for s/m/wbes to establish relationships with large construction contracting firms, public agencies and authorities with whom they seek to do business.
• Provide s/m/wbe contractors with up-to-date construction contract information, such as schedules, blueprints, bid deadlines, contract awards, and public agency contract requirements.
• To present skill development courses in construction management, as well as business seminars and technical assistance workshops that assist s/m/wbes to do business more effectively.
• To assist in increasing the the number, size, and quality of awards to participating s/m/wbes and expand the range of their business opportunities.
